Pennsylvania has made no secret of its desire to dominate the online gambling in the United States. It has joined the few other states which have given the approval to online casinos, online poker, and online sports betting. The bottom line is that residents of Pennsylvania have multiple online gambling opportunities to choose from.
Governor Tom Wolf approved a large online gambling expansion for Pennsylvania in 2017 by signing H 271. The bill made provisions for no less than eight types of online gambling. These include online casinos, online horse racing betting, online lotteries, and online sportsbooks. If you can bet it, you can probably bet it online in Pennsylvania with a computer, phone, or tablet.
The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board is the state entity that controls the online gambling in the state. The board is responsible for issuing licenses. It also collects tax revenues and makes determinations on the fairness of online gambling operations.
Anyone that is 21 years or age or older in Pennsylvania can access any of the state's online gambling sites. One does not need to be a resident of Pennsylvania to gamble online, but one must be within the borders of the state at the time betting is done.
